células
Las células son la unidad funcional básica de la vida (todos los organismo están compuestos por ellos). Fueron descubiertos por Robert Hooke en 1665. La palabra célula viene del latín cellula (una pequeña habitación). Existen dos tipos de células: eucarióticas y procarióticas. Las células procarióticas son normalmente independiente; se encuentran en organismos unicelulares, mientras que las eucarióticas se encuentran normalmente en organismos multicelulares. Sus funciones básicas son crecimiento, metabolismo (procesar moléculas de nutrientes), creación (una célula se divide en dos) y síntesis de proteínas.
